Day Two:
Learner Motivation
Building on the foundation of ecosystem mapping established on day one, day two centered on the human element of Arabic language learning with a focus on student motivation.
Participants engaged in sessions that linked theory to practice and discussed what factors influence, generate, and sustain learner motivation. Participants were split into groups to synthesize information from the different sessions. They identified steps that teachers and schools can take to foster student motivation in the classroom. Attendees also had the opportunity to compare the similar challenges of learning and teaching Chinese as a fellow Category 5 language.
