Event Overview
Building Educator Capacity to Teach Arabic
As part of QFI’s continued support of the teaching and learning of the Arabic language through educator capacity building, QFI welcomes all attendees to the 2025 QFI UK Autumn Institute. QFI established this annual teacher training event years ago as an opportunity for members of Arabic education communities of practice to present and facilitate training sessions. It is also an opportunity for teachers of various experience levels to engage with Arabic-specific professional development in the UK context.
About the Autumn Institute
This year’s format was expanded to increased the number of participants to form lasting connections, and the institute will run with concurrent sessions over the course of four days.
Sessions will ensure Arabic teachers are aware of emerging tools and methodologies to enhance instruction and learner motivation, as well as showcasing how Arabic can be taught in proficiency-based ways that reflect best practices in language education and maintain pupil engagement.
Through follow-up sessions, attending teachers will connect with experienced mentors to facilitate the implementation of session material and activities in educators' everyday practice.
This year’s training will include clear connections to aspects of evidence-based learnings, with explicit linkages to work started at the 2024 and 2025 Oxford QFI Research Forums.
