2025 at a Glance
Why Arabic Education Matters Now
Arabic connects more than 400 million speakers across 22 countries and is one of the six official languages of the United Nations.
In today’s interconnected world, shaped by global migration, geopolitics, and multilingual economies, access to Arabic language education is increasingly important. Despite its global relevance, Arabic remains significantly underrepresented in K–12 education systems, limiting students’ access to critical skills and opportunities.
For over 15 years, Qatar Foundation International (QFI) has worked to address this gap. QFI has served as a catalyst for advancing Arabic education in schools, grounding its approach in sustained dialogue with educators, students, researchers, and policymakers. Through this work, QFI helps build an ecosystem that strengthens the capacity and infrastructure required to sustain Arabic language learning in schools.
2025 marked a transition year, one in which long-term investments began to converge into visible, system-shifting outcomes across multiple countries.
